Use KnowMoodle

1. First off, how does one access a "Book"? In the screencapture below, you will see several books, which are normally shown with a little book icon as one of the blocks in your course.

Example of clickable Book link

2. By left-clicking on the title of the Book (that is, the words just to the right of the appropriate book icon) you will be taken to that specific book. For example, by clicking on "The Future" link in the figure above, you will be taken to that book, which contains one or more linked pages of information and graphics. In this example, clicking on this link will open the book as shown below.

3. There are several features of note in a typical "book":

a) The breadcrumbs or navigation information indicate the location and book that you are currently viewing.
b) The book's table of contents with titles of the chapters are shown on the left side block.

4. You can access the various chapters of your virtual book in several ways: a) by left-clicking on the appropriate page in the table of contents; or, b) by left-clicking on the forward or back arrow at the top or bottom right of the book window, as shown in the figure below.

Navigation devices in a book

5. Another feature associated with a book is the ability to print the individual chapters or the entire book via a printer. The two printer icons just to the right of the Table of Contents block enable you to print such a document. The left icon enables printing of the entire book. Should you forget which print does what, just hold or hover you mouse over either icon and a tool tip balloon will show the appropriate print icon.

Clickable website links in a book

6. In this window, you can see some links to other sites, such as the Alder School of Coaching. You can check if these are links to other web sites by holding your mouse over the text and if the mouse cursor changes from an arrow to a hand and a new web address is shown in the bottom left portion of your web browser, then clicking on the text will take you to another website page.
